Wilson Odobert, who joined Tottenham Hotspur as a late summer signing, has endured a frustrating spell since his arrival.

After a promising start, the young winger was sidelined by injury, and despite recovering, he suffered a re-injury in training, which Ange Postecoglou described as “a pretty serious one” in a press conference.
Since then, Odobert has been unavailable, and fans have been left wondering when, or if, they will see him in action again.
Now, there’s an update from Odobert himself, albeit not the news supporters had hoped for.
The 19-year-old posted an Instagram story from his hospital bed, suggesting that he has undergone surgery.

While the exact nature of the operation remains unclear, given the previous hamstring issues, it’s safe to assume it could be a significant procedure that will keep him out for several months.
Drawing on my “medical knowledge” from the University of Holiday Inn Express in Indianapolis, I’d estimate a recovery timeline of 3-4 months, though I hope I’m mistaken.
Of course, it’s possible that the surgery was less serious, but it’s clear this isn’t the update fans were hoping for.
The silver lining is that the surgery was necessary, and with it now completed, Odobert can focus on recovery. Whether he’ll return this season or next remains uncertain, but we all wish him a full recovery. Rest well, Wilson.
