AdminTottenham defender Radu Dragusin has found himself at the centre of transfer speculation as the January window draws nearer.
The 22-year-old Romanian international, who joined Spurs from Genoa for £25 million last January, has struggled to secure regular first-team football in North London, prompting interest from top Serie A clubs Napoli and Juventus.
Dragusin’s agent, Florin Manea, has further spread the rumours, with his frequent comments about the player’s future.
In a recent interview with Telecapri,Manea did not shy away from acknowledging the growing links to the Italian giants, but also insisted that Dragusin remains committed to Tottenham, where he still has five years left on his contract.
“It is an honour for Radu to be wanted by teams like Napoli and Juve, but right now they are just rumours,” Manea said.
“We are focused on Tottenham. He still has five years left on his contract. It is not easy to go to a top club and force yourself right away, he is still 22-years-old.
If he never plays this season it is normal that other evaluations will be made: in January he won’t move, in June he will be evaluated.”
Despite limited opportunities in the Premier League, where he has started just three league matches this season behind regulars Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, Dragusin has received more chances in the Europa League and Carabao Cup under manager Ange Postecoglou.
With Van de Ven sidelined due to injury, Dragusin now has the opportunity to showcase his abilities, which could strengthen his position in the squad and influence Postecoglou’s plans for the remainder of the season.
