Racing Club de Lens have completed the loan signing of Olympique de Marseille goalkeeper Pau López, the two clubs have confirmed.

The 30-year-old Spaniard spent the first half of the season on loan at Girona FC, where he served as backup to Paulo Gazzaniga. López made just one appearance for the Catalan side, featuring in a Copa del Rey second-round match.
Lens had been on the hunt for a new goalkeeper following the anticipated departure of Brice Samba.
The former AS Roma shot-stopper emerged as their preferred choice to fill the void left by Samba, who has been pivotal for Les Sang et Or in recent seasons.
The loan deal includes an option for Lens to make the move permanent. Meanwhile, Samba is reportedly close to sealing a €14m transfer to Stade Rennais. According to RMC Sport, the France international is undergoing a medical ahead of the move.

With López now in their ranks, Lens will hope the experienced keeper can quickly adapt to life in Ligue 1.
He is expected to make his debut on Sunday when Lens take on Le Havre. The match will be a key opportunity for López to showcase his abilities and help his new team secure crucial points in the league campaign.
