Le match a basculé en cinq minutes à peine : trois erreurs individuelles, trois buts encaissés, et une rencontre déjà pliée.
Le début de partie a tourné au cauchemar. Incapables de gérer le temps fort monégasque, les Nantais ont sombré collectivement.
« It’s incredibly disappointing because we completely fell apart in four minutes. We can’t afford to collapse mentally like that.
» Le constat est lucide, presque amer. Encore une fois, Nantes a couru après le score, prisonnier de ses fragilités.
« As is so often the case, we’re reacting. It’s a mental thing. For seven months, this team hasn’t won much. As soon as there’s a setback, a minor obstacle, this fragility becomes apparent. » Le mal semble profond. À la moindre contrariété, le doute s’installe et l’adversaire en profite.
Pourtant, tout n’a pas été à jeter. La seconde période a montré un visage plus entreprenant. « We saw it in the second half: as soon as they’re out there, as soon as they play with more freedom, it’s better.
» Refusant d’accabler ses joueurs, le technicien a insisté : « We lost the match as a team; I’m not here to point fingers. »
Dans la lutte pour le maintien, Nantes n’a plus le droit à l’erreur. L’unité sera plus que jamais indispensable.
