The foxes Star is expected to attract significant transfer interest this summer as Leicester City battle to avoid relegation.

The winger has been one of the few bright sparks in a difficult campaign, registering nine goals and seven assists in the Championship.

The 22-year-old has rediscovered his rhythm after a frustrating Premier League season last year, when he made just 11 appearances without scoring.

Fatawu also played a key role in Leicester’s promotion in 2024, contributing six goals and 13 assists.

His performances have not gone unnoticed, with Sunderland previously tabling a reported £28 million bid, while Everton have also monitored his progress.

According to Football Insider, Sunderland are prepared to revive their interest ahead of the summer window. Régis Le Bris’ side, currently 11th in the Premier League, are already planning reinforcements after securing survival.

Leicester, meanwhile, are reportedly willing to sell, setting an asking price of £20 million despite a £30 million release clause. Financial pressures continue to weigh heavily, with the club keen to reduce their wage bill following a six-point deduction for alleged PSR breaches.

That penalty has left Gary Rowett’s side 22nd, deep in the relegation zone. With just one win in 13 matches, their position remains precarious.

Should Leicester drop into League One, Fatawu’s departure would appear inevitable, with Sunderland well-placed to secure his signature.
