Gary Rowett will take charge of Leicester City for the final time at Blackburn on Saturday, with the club expected to begin the search for a permanent successor immediately afterwards. Supporters will hope that, this time, the decision-makers finally get the appointment right.
When Rowett arrived, he was viewed by many as the right man to steady a sinking ship. A six-point deduction was handed to the club almost as soon as he walked through the door, yet he still managed to bring some improvement after the difficult closing weeks under Marti Cifuentes and the brief spell overseen by Andy King.

Now, however, Leicester are looking beyond a short-term fix. Several familiar names have resurfaced since Cifuentes departed, although the list does little to excite.
Will Still remains one of the more intriguing options. He was dismissed by Southampton FC in November after a poor run, despite previously being regarded as one of the brightest young coaches in the game.
Chris Davies has also been mentioned after guiding Birmingham City FC forward, though questions remain over his long-term credentials.
Russell Martinβs inclusion will concern some supporters. His commitment to possession football has often divided opinion, and his recent struggles have raised doubts over whether he would suit Leicester.
Kevin Muscat, Patrick Kisnorbo and Liam Rosenior have also been discussed, but at this stage Still appears the standout candidate, with Davies another who may yet come under serious consideration.
