AdminGary Rowett has confirmed that no talks have yet taken place with Leicester City over whether he will remain at the club beyond the end of his current spell in charge.
Rowett was brought in during a difficult period for the Foxes, with the club searching for stability after a season that has left supporters frustrated and uncertain about what comes next.
While speculation continues over who could lead Leicester into a crucial summer, the former Millwall and Birmingham manager admitted that his immediate focus has remained on the task he was asked to complete.
‘No conversations have happened, I came in for a specific job. I think anyone would want to be a part of this rebuild’
Those words are likely to spark further debate among supporters, many of whom believe the club must now make a clear decision over the direction it wants to take. Leicester are preparing for a major rebuild, both on and off the pitch, and the choice of manager is expected to be one of the biggest calls of the summer.
Despite the uncertainty, Rowett made it clear he understands the scale of the challenge facing the club and believes the hierarchy must now act decisively.
‘The club know the situation and have to do the right thing’
For now, Rowett appears willing to wait, but Leicester’s next move could shape the club’s immediate future.
