Dutch coach Dick Schreuder has insisted he has no plans to leave NEC Nijmegen this summer, despite growing speculation linking him with the vacant Leicester City job.
Schreuder emerged as a surprise name on Leicester’s shortlist late last month as the club continue their search for a manager capable of leading them through life in League One.

At the time, the suggestion already appeared ambitious given the impressive work he had carried out in the Netherlands. After the weekend’s events, it now looks even less likely.
NEC rounded off a remarkable Eredivisie campaign with victory over Go Ahead Eagles, sealing a third-place finish — the highest league position in the club’s history — and securing a place in the Champions League third qualifying round.
The Dutchman has also been linked with Ajax following their disappointing fifth-place finish, but Schreuder made his intentions crystal clear after the match.
“Everyone who has been here before says every week that we have never experienced anything like this. And then you get rewarded as well. That is so wonderful for the people, and for me personally, of course.
“(The Champions League) is going to be crazy. I will definitely be there next year. Everyone knows that I still have a contract.”
Meanwhile, Leicester are yet to make any public statement regarding Gary Rowett’s future or the club’s ongoing managerial search.
