Jamie Vardy has opened up on the reasons behind his decision to leave Leicester City, insisting there was no dispute between himself and the club despite bringing an end to a remarkable chapter at the King Power Stadium.
The veteran striker, who became one of the most iconic figures in Leicester’s history, confirmed that his departure was driven by personal feelings rather than any breakdown in relations with the club’s hierarchy.

Speaking candidly about the situation, Vardy explained that he had reached a point where he was no longer content and felt the time was right to move on.
“It was nothing to do with me against the club [or the] club against me, I [just] weren’t happy, just not happy.”
The former England international stressed that the decision was entirely his own and was not influenced by anyone at Leicester.
“I made my decision, made it personally as well.”
Vardy’s comments will come as a surprise to some supporters who had speculated there may have been tensions behind the scenes following Leicester’s difficult period in recent seasons. However, the striker was keen to make it clear that there was no conflict between the two parties.
Having spent well over a decade at the club, Vardy leaves as a Leicester legend, having played a pivotal role in their historic Premier League title triumph and numerous memorable campaigns. His departure marks the end of an era for the Foxes.
