Russell Martin has urged patience over Leicester City’s transfer business, insisting the club will not rush into signings despite the inevitable changes expected before the new season.
With the summer window continuing to gather pace, Martin acknowledged that movement in both directions is unavoidable as the squad begins to take shape.
The Foxes have already seen speculation surrounding several players, while supporters continue to wait for fresh arrivals ahead of the Championship campaign.
Speaking about the club’s approach, Martin pointed to his previous experience of rebuilding a squad following relegation during his time at Southampton.
He believes remaining calm is essential, even when there is pressure from outside to strengthen quickly.

The Leicester head coach made it clear that every decision must be made with the club’s long-term interests in mind rather than reacting to the demands of the transfer market. Instead of rushing deals, he wants the right players to arrive at the right moment.
Martin said: ‘People will leave, people come. I’ve been in a situation at Southampton before after relegation, you can’t get too stressed or anxious or being in a rush to do things, it has to be the right time for us.’
His comments suggest Leicester are prepared to wait for suitable opportunities in the market, with the club determined to build a squad capable of challenging for promotion rather than making signings simply for the sake of adding numbers.
