The UEFA Super Cup is almost upon us, with the curtain-raiser set to bring together last season’s Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain and Europa League winners Aston Villa in Austria.

The highly anticipated clash will take place at Stadion Salzburg in Wals-Siezenheim, with kick-off scheduled for 8pm in Birmingham and 9pm in Paris and Salzburg.

Villa head into the fixture with three notable injury concerns, involving Alejandro Garnacho, John McGinn and Leon Bailey.

The club has confirmed its travelling squad for the trip, with both McGinn and Garnacho included despite their respective fitness concerns.

McGinn is nursing a knee problem, while Garnacho is recovering from a facial injury, leaving both players as 50/50 propositions to feature in the midweek showdown.

Bailey, however, will miss the game after being ruled out with an unspecified muscular injury. Summer signing Johan Manzambi is also unavailable for the European clash.

Amadou Onana remains a long-term absentee after suffering an ACL injury, with the midfielder expected to miss most, if not all, of the upcoming campaign.

With the Super Cup offering Villa an opportunity to claim European silverware, Unai Emery will be hoping his available stars can deliver on a major night in Austria.

The clash promises to be a fascinating battle between two sides who enjoyed memorable European campaigns last season.
