Rangers have reached an agreement with Aston Villa to sign Kosta Nedeljkovic on loan, with the Serbian defender set to make the move to Ibrox for the upcoming campaign.

The deal includes a £4 million buy option, which will become mandatory if Nedeljkovic reaches a certain number of appearances during his loan spell.

The agreement gives Rangers the opportunity to bring the highly rated full-back to Scotland on a temporary basis, while also providing a clear route towards a permanent transfer.

Nedeljkovic joined Aston Villa from Red Star Belgrade and has been regarded as one of the promising young defenders in European football.

His pace, energy and ability to contribute from the right side have made him an attractive option for Rangers as they continue to strengthen their squad.

The move is expected to provide Nedeljkovic with regular first-team football and valuable experience, while Rangers will have the chance to assess him closely before deciding whether to make the transfer permanent.

The agreement was reported by journalist @J_Tanswell, with the two clubs now understood to have settled the key terms of the deal.

Rangers will hope Nedeljkovic can quickly adapt to Scottish football and make an impact, with the club looking to compete strongly on both domestic and European fronts this season.
