PSG winger Ibrahim Mbaye has agreed to join Aston Villa after the Premier League club reached a €55m agreement with the French champions for the highly-rated Senegal international, according to RMC Sport.
The 18-year-old is expected to travel to Birmingham this Saturday to undergo his medical before completing the final formalities of his move. Mbaye will reportedly sign a five-year contract with Unai Emery’s side.
Villa have been tracking Mbaye for some time and gradually made their interest clear as they looked to secure one of Europe’s most exciting young talents. Their persistence has now paid off, with an agreement finally reached with PSG on Friday.
The deal represents a significant investment in the teenager, but Villa have beaten several major European clubs to his signature.

RB Leipzig, Chelsea and Liverpool were also monitoring Mbaye and had shown an interest in bringing him to their respective clubs. However, Liverpool eventually withdrew from the race after PSG’s initial asking price reportedly approached €70m.
Villa ultimately managed to negotiate a €55m package, allowing them to win the race for Mbaye’s signature.
The youngster is now expected to arrive in Birmingham to complete his medical and put pen to paper on his long-term contract.
Mbaye’s arrival would represent another major statement of Villa’s ambition as Emery continues to strengthen his squad with an eye on competing at the highest level domestically and in Europe.
