‘They’ll Have No Choice But to Sell Me!’ — West Ham New Boy Makes Jaw-Dropping Admission After Just Arriving!

Edvin Austbo has wasted little time showing the ambition that convinced West Ham to sign him, although one recent admission may have raised a few eyebrows among supporters.

The 21-year-old completed his move from Viking on August 31, signing a four-year contract with an option for another year in a deal reportedly worth around £10m.

Austbo has made an encouraging start in England, scoring and assisting from the bench against Derby County before making his first start at Bolton. His early performances suggest he could provide genuine competition for Manor Solomon.

Speaking to Stavanger Aftenblad, Austbo admitted he dreams of eventually playing for an even bigger club.

“I’d like to play for an even bigger club in the future, even though West Ham is huge,” he said.

He then added:

“The goal is to become so good that they have to sell me. But first, we’re going to achieve a few things here along the way.”

His ambition is understandable. Austbo arrives after winning the Norwegian title with Viking, being named Eliteserien Young Player of the Year and helping his boyhood club reach Champions League qualification.

West Ham supporters will want him focused on the immediate task: helping the club return to the Premier League.

There is nothing wrong with dreaming big, but suggesting publicly that West Ham may eventually have to sell him is unlikely to endear him to everyone.

For now, Austbo must establish himself under Nuno Espirito Santo and prove that his confidence is justified.
