Just In 🚨: Leicester City have just changed Jon Rudkin’s role at the club. This is his new role — you won’t believe what it is! 😱

Jon Rudkin’s influence over Leicester City’s recruitment appears to remain as strong as ever despite his move into a new boardroom role earlier this year.

The long-serving Foxes figure moved from director of football to chief football officer in March, with James McCarron subsequently arriving as sporting director.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Rudkin remained ‘front and centre’ of Leicester’s transfer activity throughout the summer window.

That development is unlikely to sit comfortably with supporters who have increasingly called for change following the club’s dramatic fall from Premier League champions to League One.

Rudkin has become one of the most criticised figures during that decline, yet his influence over recruitment has seemingly continued.

Leicester brought in 14 new players during the summer, with Ilari Kangasniemi, Liam Cullen, Admir Bristic, Warren O’Hora, Wes Burns, Emil Riis and Franco Ravizzoli arriving for fees. Conor Chaplin, John Lundstram and Alex McCarthy joined on free transfers, while Harry Howell, Tommy Watson, Christian McFarlane and Kamari Doyle arrived on loan.

The revamped squad currently sits 13th after six League One matches, with Russell Martin under pressure to deliver improved results.

For many supporters, however, the bigger issue remains behind the scenes. With Leicester still up for sale, genuine change could ultimately depend on a takeover. Until then, Rudkin’s continued involvement in recruitment is unlikely to disappear.
