🚨 BREAKING: Greece Have Just Dropped an Injury Update on Konstantinos Mavropanos After He Was Forced Off Yesterday — Here’s the Latest Update on His Injury! 😱🔥

West Ham United were handed a scare during Greece’s goalless draw with Germany after one of their key defenders was forced off in the closing stages.

The centre-back was substituted in the 79th minute of Sunday evening’s UEFA Nations League clash in Thessaloniki, raising concerns for Nuno Espirito Santo ahead of West Ham’s next Championship fixture.

The defender has enjoyed an excellent start to the campaign and once again produced a strong display against Germany. However, his early departure briefly threatened to overshadow his performance.

There is, though, no major cause for concern after he addressed the issue following the match.

”I think there was a misunderstanding, but okay, bygone, forgotten.

“Retsos came in and did a tremendous job too, all the kids playing give their all.

“I was in a little pain, but it’s nothing major. Everything’s fine.”

His comments will come as a huge relief to the Hammers, particularly given his importance to the team.

According to FotMob, he made 16 defensive contributions, including 14 clearances, one tackle and one block. He also recorded three recoveries and won three of four aerial duels.

He completed 83 per cent of his passes and even managed two attempts on goal.

Nuno previously described him as a “warrior”, and West Ham will hope their defensive leader remains fit for the promotion battle.
