🚨 Breaking: Leicester City have given Russell Martin a number of matches to save his job. This is how many matches he has been given to prove himself!

Leicester City’s slow start to life in League One has increased the pressure on Russell Martin, with the Foxes facing a crucial run of fixtures that could define their season.

When Reyes Cleary equalised for Barnsley three weeks ago, frustration swept through the Leicester camp.

Despite dominating proceedings and taking the lead through Liam Cullen, City failed to capitalise on Luca Connell’s 26th-minute red card, settling for a disappointing draw.

The result highlighted Leicester’s struggles in the final third, with their early-season inconsistencies raising concerns about their promotion ambitions.

After seven games, Martin’s side have recorded just two victories, losing twice at home to Burton Albion and Oxford United. With more goals conceded than scored, Leicester must improve quickly.

Their next five fixtures offer an opportunity to turn things around, starting against Peterborough United before facing Doncaster Rovers, Bromley, Luton Town and Wigan Athletic.

Martin remains confident about Leicester’s long-term prospects but admits results must improve.

“I genuinely think we will be up there in where we want to be come the end of the season, so we can make it much easier for ourselves by picking up wins now,” Martin said on Friday.

He added: “We have to start doing that to convince everyone that we will be, and to make it easier for ourselves to get where we want to get to.”

Martin also acknowledged his frustration with the points collected so far, despite praising the club’s response to significant changes.

Leicester now face a defining period, with victories essential to restoring confidence and strengthening their promotion challenge.
