One player under attention is James Maddison. The England international, valued at £40 million, has struggled to make a consistent impact.

Though praised by Danny Murphy and renowned for his playmaking skills, Maddison’s style doesn’t always align with Postecoglou’s demands for hard-working, controlling midfielders.

Maddison excels with the ball at his feet, but questions remain about his off-the-ball contributions.

The 27-year-old has delivered three goals and three assists in nine starts and two substitute appearances in the league this season.

He has also registered one assist in the UEFA Europa League. Yet, pundit Robbie Earle has labelled him a “luxury” player, highlighting his style but hinting at his limitations.

Despite his inconsistent form, Tottenham reportedly have no plans to part ways with Maddison.

According to GiveMeSport, “there is no indication yet that Maddison will be leaving Tottenham in the immediate future,” with a January exit considered “very unlikely.”

Simon Jordan of talkSPORT has also considered in, suggesting Maddison’s “flash” style suits Spurs but wouldn’t appeal to top clubs like Liverpool or Manchester City.
