Leicester City have been handed an early concern during the international break after Jordan James was forced off in Wales’ World Cup play-off clash in Cardiff.

The 21-year-old midfielder, currently on loan from Rennes, was withdrawn before the hour mark in what was shaping up to be a tense encounter against Bosnia and Herzegovina. His evening was cut short shortly after Dan James had lit up the contest, producing a moment of quality to hand Wales the advantage.

There was immediate worry as Jordan James made his way towards the touchline, visibly uncomfortable and wincing as he was replaced by Swansea City’s Liam Cullen. The nature of the issue was not entirely clear, though it appeared to stem from a challenge involving Amar Mecic moments earlier. Television replays offered little clarity, leaving both club and country awaiting further assessment.

The incident occurred during a lively spell in the match, with Wales beginning to assert themselves. Harry Wilson had just danced past three Bosnia defenders before being brought down, only for referee Istvan Kovac to maintain a notably lenient approach.

For Leicester, the timing is far from ideal. James has been an important presence in midfield, and any spell on the sidelines would represent a significant setback as the Championship season approaches its decisive phase.
