Since taking over from Marti Cifuentes at the King Power, the experienced EFL boss has endured a relentless start, overseeing seven matches in just a month, often while juggling significant injury headaches.

Defensive options have been stretched to the limit, with Asmir Begovic and Jannick Vestergaard regularly sidelined.

The 0-0 draw at Watford offered a glimpse of promise, with January signing Jamaal Lascelles shining, but Rowett will be desperate for more reinforcements as the Easter fixtures loom.

Attack, too, has frustrated him, with a lack of cutting edge costing points in recent draws and defeats.

Aaron Ramsey very nearly featured at Vicarage Road, only for illness to rule him out, but Rowett hinted the ex-Burnley loanee could soon make his mark.

“Ramsey is back in training,” the Leicester boss confirmed, alongside Vestergaard, while others head off on international duty.

The 23-year-old has impressed in flashes this season, scoring twice in back-to-back games under Cifuentes against Portsmouth and Hull City, before injury curtailed his progress.

Rowett is likely to deploy him as an impact substitute, echoing Cifuentes’ previous approach, giving tired defences a fresh threat.

With ten goals in 38 Championship appearances, Ramsey has the experience to make a difference for a Leicester side fighting for survival — and he is eager to do just that.
