HE HAS TO GO 😭💔: Leicester City on the brink of losing their BEST player in a devastating summer exit amid financial crisis 🚨

Leicester City are preparing to part ways with Abdul Fatawu this summer as financial pressures continue to mount and the threat of a slide into League One looms large.

According to The Telegraph, the club are set to persist with their long-established strategy of sanctioning at least one major sale per transfer window in order to steady the accounts. In the current climate, Fatawu has emerged as the most valuable asset at their disposal.

Despite providing one of the few bright notes in an otherwise difficult campaign, the Ghanaian winger now finds himself at the centre of Leicester’s cost-cutting plans. The club’s recently confirmed £71 million annual loss has only intensified the urgency for significant outgoings.

The situation on the pitch has done little to ease concerns. Leicester, enduring their second Championship spell in three years, sit perilously in 22nd place, hovering just above the drop zone. Relegation to League One would bring further financial strain, making a high-profile departure almost unavoidable.

Fatawu, signed permanently from Sporting CP for €17 million last summer, represents a lucrative opportunity. With a contract running until 2029, Leicester are well placed to command a fee in excess of €30 million.

Interest is building across Europe, with Napoli leading the chase. The Serie A side are believed to be readying a €25 million opening bid for the 22-year-old, whose return of nine goals and seven assists in 38 appearances has marked him out as one of the Championship’s standout performers.
