Leicester City are staring at a tense conclusion to the campaign, with Gary Rowett’s side sitting just a point adrift of safety as the final seven fixtures approach.

The immediate priority is clear: avoid the ignominy of relegation to League One. Yet even survival would do little to disguise the scale of the rebuild required at the King Power Stadium.

Discontent among supporters continues to grow. A recent restructuring has done little to restore faith, with many fans losing trust in the ownership amid ongoing uncertainty behind the scenes.

Financial concerns have only deepened that unease. The club’s latest accounts revealed losses exceeding £70m, underlining the urgency for a more sustainable approach. While Leicester are reportedly “confident” they will avoid further sanctions, the issue cannot be ignored.

According to Telegraph journalist John Percy, the club are now expected to revert to a familiar strategy — selling a key player each summer to balance the books.

Abdul Fatawu appears the most likely departure, regardless of the division Leicester find themselves in.

The Ghana international has impressed, contributing nine goals and seven assists, attracting interest from “Premier League clubs and promotion contenders in the Championship”.

Leicester’s challenge now is twofold: maximise any fee received and ensure it is reinvested wisely — something they have struggled to do in recent years.
