AdminMarc Albrighton has admitted everybody connected with Leicester City must accept responsibility for the club’s dramatic decline, with the former Premier League champions now staring at the possibility of an unthinkable drop into League One.
The winger, who remains one of the few players to have experienced the greatest days in the club’s history, did not attempt to shield anyone from criticism as Leicester’s miserable campaign continues to spiral towards another painful chapter.
Albrighton believes the problems at the club run far deeper than results on the pitch and insisted the blame cannot be placed on one person alone. Instead, he feels everyone behind the scenes and inside the dressing room has played a part in the situation Leicester now find themselves in.
After lifting the Premier League title in 2016 in one of the most remarkable stories English football has ever seen, few could have imagined Leicester would be fighting to avoid falling into the third tier less than a decade later.
Supporters have watched the club slide backwards at an alarming rate, with poor decisions, inconsistency and a lack of leadership all contributing to the current crisis.
Albrighton’s words are likely to strike a chord with many fans who have become increasingly frustrated with the direction of the club.
Marc Albrighton says everyone at Leicester City is to blame for the downfall of the club, with the 2016 Premier League winners on the brink of relegation into League One.
With only a handful of matches left, Leicester now face a battle that once seemed impossible to imagine.
