JUST IN 🚨: The meeting is over. This is the final decision Leicester made on Gary Rowett after today’s meeting with Gary Rowett himself.

Gary Rowett will hold talks with Leicester City’s hierarchy this week as the club steps up its search for a manager ahead of next season.

Saturday’s 1-0 win over Blackburn marked the 14th and final game of Rowett’s short-term spell in charge, bringing the campaign to a close on a positive note.

With attention now turning to life in League One, Rowett has made no secret of his desire to take on the role permanently, insisting he could be “exactly what the club need”.

A return to the club is expected in the coming days, where discussions will centre not only on his future but also on a broader review of his tenure and the direction Leicester must take.

“I’ll catch up with the guys next week,” he said after Saturday’s game. “It was important to get the season out of the way. I’m sure I’ll sit down with the club.”

Prior to the match, he added: “When you’ve been here for the games we’ve had, you’d want to help the club in any way they feel is important to them. What the club need off me moving forward, I’ll have those conversations.

“I’ll be available for those discussions, I’ll be available to help in any way I can… I’m speaking to people all of the time.”

Rowett has also stressed the need for “cultural change”, highlighting a demand for greater physicality, renewed hunger, and a return to the underdog spirit that once defined the club.
