Can’t believe you would make this comment 😡😡😡: Fans were frustrated with what Jarrod Bowen said after our defeat against Newcastle yesterday — you won’t believe what he said.

West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen admitted there were no excuses left after another damaging defeat left the club relying on other results heading into the final weekend of the season.

The Hammers were second best for large periods against Newcastle and frustration was clear both on the pitch and in the stands after the final whistle.

Supporters made their feelings known as West Ham’s poor run continued, with the pressure now firmly on the squad ahead of Sunday’s decisive fixtures.

Bowen, who has often tried to lift the side during a difficult campaign, did not hide from the criticism afterwards.

Speaking honestly about the team’s performances, the England international acknowledged the disappointment felt around the club and accepted the players had fallen short of expectations.

“I can fully understand the frustration because there isn’t really an answer back to it. We haven’t been good enough, and now we’re having to rely on other results to give us a chance next Sunday.”

His comments reflected the mood around the London Stadium, where patience among supporters is beginning to wear thin after a series of poor displays at a crucial stage of the season.

West Ham now face an anxious wait, knowing their hopes could depend as much on favours elsewhere as their own performance.
