Leicester City’s search for a new manager continues to gather pace, but several early targets already appear unlikely to arrive at the King Power Stadium.
Reports in the Netherlands suggest NEC Nijmegen boss Dick Schreuder has rejected Leicester’s interest after guiding the club to a third-place finish in the Eredivisie and securing Champions League qualification.

Schreuder is believed to want another season to continue the project he has built ahead of European football next term.
Despite dropping into League One, Leicester still believe the club remains an attractive destination. Former Schalke and Union Saint-Gilloise manager Karel Geraerts has also been linked, although a move to England’s third tier would be a surprise given his growing reputation in Europe.
Marti Cifuentes, who left Leicester in January, is reportedly open to a return, while Gary Rowett is still in charge for now. However, few expect him to remain beyond the summer.
Jacob Neestrup has also emerged as a possible option after leaving FC Copenhagen earlier this season, although his stock has dipped following a difficult campaign.
Among the bookmakers’ favourites, Darren Ferguson, Russell Martin and Chris Davies remain heavily linked. Christian Fuchs is another name attracting support after impressing during his early spell with Newport County.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Scott Parker have also been mentioned, with Solskjaer’s remarkable rise from Norwegian third-tier football still viewed as one of the game’s great modern stories.
