Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are set to battle for the signing of Levante striker Karl Etta Eyong after both clubs stepped up their interest ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old forward has emerged as one of the most talked-about young attackers in Spain after an impressive campaign with Levante, attracting attention from several clubs across Europe.

Barcelona had previously monitored the striker, but reports in Spain claim the Catalan side have now moved on to alternative targets, leaving the race wide open.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Levante are prepared to listen to offers for Etta Eyong, with Everton and Tottenham now leading the chase for his signature. The Spanish side are believed to value the Cameroon-born forward at around €25 million (£22m).
It promises to be a crucial summer for both Premier League clubs. Everton are hoping to build on the progress made under David Moyes after finishing narrowly outside the European places, while Tottenham are desperate to avoid another disappointing campaign following successive struggles near the bottom half.
Talent scout Jacek Kulig previously described Etta Eyong as “amazing”, and the numbers behind his performances explain why interest is growing rapidly.
The striker finished last season with seven goals and four assists in all competitions while also posting impressive attacking statistics.
Everton are understood to view him as strong competition for Thierno Barry, whose long-term future at Goodison Park could now come under fresh scrutiny.
