AdminWest Ham United are preparing to step up their pursuit of Axel Disasi, with talks scheduled to take place this week as the club assesses the possibility of bringing the French defender back to east London.
The Hammers have been monitoring Disasi’s situation closely and are now expected to hold direct discussions aimed at determining whether the centre-back can be persuaded that a move to the London Stadium represents the best next step in his career.
Club officials are understood to view the meeting as a key stage in the process. While West Ham have identified several defensive targets ahead of the new campaign, Disasi remains a player of significant interest due to his Premier League experience, physical presence and versatility across the back line.
Sources close to the situation indicate that interest from rival clubs has not developed as strongly as many anticipated earlier in the summer.
That could work in West Ham’s favour, potentially giving the Hammers a clearer path should they decide to press ahead with a formal move.
The lack of serious competition may also encourage the player to give greater consideration to West Ham’s proposal, particularly if regular first-team football is a major factor in his decision-making.
As things stand, no agreement has been reached, but the upcoming talks are expected to provide a clearer indication of whether a deal can be struck.
West Ham remain optimistic and believe they could emerge as one of the most realistic destinations available to Disasi this summer.
