Despite Leicester’s difficult period over the last two seasons, he has remained a regular presence in the squad and has continued to be viewed as an important option in the middle of the park.

Following meetings held this week between club officials and Martin, it is understood that the player remains part of the manager’s plans for the upcoming season.

The new Leicester boss is currently assessing his squad and identifying the players he believes can help the club challenge for promotion, with the midfielder now expected to stay and fight for his place.

The player in question is Oliver Skipp.

Skipp joined Leicester from Tottenham on a long-term deal and has gone on to make a significant number of appearances for the Foxes.

The former England Under-21 international is valued for his work rate, defensive discipline and ability to control possession from deep areas.

Recent reports surrounding Leicester’s summer rebuild under Russell Martin had sparked speculation over several members of the squad, especially following the club’s disappointing campaign.

However, there is currently no indication that Skipp is among the players being pushed towards the exit door. Instead, he appears set to remain at the club as Martin begins shaping his team.

The midfielder was even included in Leicester’s latest matchday squad, further suggesting that he remains a trusted member of the group heading into the new season.

With Martin keen to build a competitive side capable of challenging near the top of the Championship, Skipp’s experience and leadership qualities could prove valuable over the course of a demanding campaign.

For now, Leicester’s decision appears clear: Oliver Skipp is staying, and Russell Martin is ready to work with him as the Foxes begin a new chapter under their recently appointed manager.
