Leicester City’s preparations for the 2026/27 season begin in earnest on Monday as Russell Martin takes charge of his first pre-season at Seagrave, marking the start of a new chapter for the club following relegation to League One.
While Martin is expected to assess his senior squad, plenty of attention will also fall on the club’s emerging academy talent.
A number of Leicester’s brightest youngsters have spent the summer maintaining their fitness and sharpening their game in anticipation of a crucial pre-season.
Jake Evans, Lorenz Hutchinson, Sammy Braybrooke, Louis Page, Will Alves, Bade Aluko, Logan Briggs, Jeremy Monga and several others have all been working with specialist coaches throughout the break.
Evans has continued his finishing sessions with attacking coach Dan Holman, while Hutchinson has trained alongside performance coach Curtis Playermade.

Braybrooke and Alves return with ambitions of forcing their way into Martin’s plans after valuable loan spells, while striker Kirsten Otchere will also be hoping to impress after an excellent goalscoring campaign for the Under-21s.
Martin knows the challenge ahead but is eager to begin.
“We know there is a lot of work ahead of us,” he said. “Nothing happens just because we want it to.
It will take standards every day, it will take detail, it will take everyone pushing in the same direction, but that is what excites me. I want us to build something here that people can really believe in.
“The supporters are going to be massive for us. If we can create that connection between the team and the stands, if we can give them a team that runs, fights, plays with courage and gives everything for the badge, then King Power Stadium can be a really powerful place for us. That starts with the work we do now.”
