One of Leicester City’s academy graduates has confirmed his departure from the club, bringing an end to his time at the King Power Stadium after progressing through the youth ranks.
The young winger announced the news himself, ending speculation over his future following reports that he had decided against signing a new contract offered earlier this summer.
He had also been involved in first-team training during pre-season under Russell Martin, but will now continue his career away from Leicester.
The player is Silko Thomas.
His departure marks the end of a long association with Leicester, where he developed through the youth ranks and established himself as one of the club’s promising academy players.
Although he was unable to break into the senior side on a regular basis, he remained highly regarded for his pace, technical ability and attacking qualities.

Thomas’ decision comes during a busy summer for Leicester, with the club reshaping both the first-team squad and its academy ahead of the new campaign.
While several young players have committed their futures to the Foxes, the winger has opted to seek a fresh challenge elsewhere.
The club has yet to confirm where Thomas will continue his career, and no announcement has been made regarding his next destination.
However, his availability is expected to attract interest from clubs looking to add a talented young winger with experience of Leicester City’s development system.
His exit closes one chapter, but it also opens the door to a new opportunity as he looks to take the next step in his professional career.
