Aston Villa have completed the departure of Samuel Iling-Junior, with the winger leaving Villa Park to join Bolton Wanderers on a season-long loan.
The move has been sanctioned by Unai Emery as the young attacker looks to gain regular first-team football and continue his development away from Villa.
It represents the fifth loan spell of Iling-Juniorâs Villa career since his arrival from Juventus. The 22-year-old has previously spent time with Bologna, Middlesbrough, West Bromwich Albion and Pisa.
Speaking after completing his move to Bolton, Iling-Junior explained why he was attracted to the opportunity and praised manager Steven Schumacher for understanding his career ambitions.
“I spoke to the manager (Steven Schumacher) and he understood my journey,â said Iling-Junior.
âThat is what attracted me here, to take the next step in my career. I want to have a good season, put smiles on everyone’s faces and be a consistent starter for this team.”

The winger already has positive memories of Boltonâs stadium and is looking forward to returning there as a home player.
“I’ve got good experience of this (Bolton) stadium already,” he added.
“I scored a brace against Luxembourg here, so that was a good night.”
“I’m a direct player. I like to be creative and, most of all, I work hard for the team and want to express myself on the pitch,â he continued.
Iling-Junior will now aim to make a strong impression throughout the season.
