He is not in the squad đŸ˜±đŸ˜±: Unai Emery didn’t travel with the Villans’ favourite. He won’t be available for this game — you won’t believe who was left out.

Aston Villa will be desperate to get their Premier League campaign up and running when they travel to the MKM Stadium to face Hull City on Saturday.

Unai Emery’s side head north looking for their first points and goals of the season after a brighter display against Arsenal on Bank Holiday Monday.

The fixture will be Villa’s first visit to Hull since August 2018 and their first Premier League meeting with the Tigers since 2015.

Hull, meanwhile, have made a remarkable start following promotion, winning their opening two league matches.

Sergej Jakirović’s men stunned Manchester United 2-0 before securing a 1-0 victory at Coventry City, while they also progressed in the Carabao Cup after beating Stoke City on penalties.

Emery will take charge of Villa for the 200th time, with his side boasting an impressive record against promoted teams. Villa have also won six of their eight Premier League meetings with Hull.

However, history offers little comfort to Villa, who are yet to register a shot on target or score in the league this season. Another blank would see them make unwanted history.

Team news could provide further intrigue, with Emery remaining coy over Leon Goretzka, Ibrahim Mbaye and Taylor Harwood-Bellis.

Johan Manzambi remains unavailable despite returning to full training, while Brian Madjo and Amadou Onana are also sidelined. JoĂŁo Gomes is suspended.

Hull could welcome Joe Gelhardt back, while several Deadline Day arrivals are pushing for debuts.
