Russell Martin has admitted that criticism of him has become increasingly personal as pressure continues to build around his position at Leicester City.
The Foxes boss has faced growing scrutiny following a difficult start to the League One campaign, with supporters questioning both his tactical approach and the team’s performances on the pitch.
Martin has previously insisted that he remains confident in his methods, but his latest comments reveal how much the criticism has affected him personally.
Speaking about the attention he receives from outside the club, Martin explained that even his own players have noticed the level of criticism directed towards him.

”Criticism has become very personal to me”
“I don’t know why I upset so many people. One of the players asked me this week why I am so criticised outside of here, because obviously they see stuff, and I can’t answer it.” [@BBCRLSport]
The manager admitted he does not have an explanation for why he has become such a target, particularly with players now asking questions about the reaction surrounding him.
Martin will be hoping his players can respond on the pitch and ease some of the pressure currently surrounding the club.
With Leicester needing results quickly, the coming fixtures could prove crucial for both the team and the manager as he attempts to turn the situation around.
