Aston Villaâs difficult start to the Premier League season continued on Saturday as Unai Emeryâs side suffered a 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest.
Villa had finally secured their first victory of the campaign in midweek, beating Club Brugge 3-2 in the Champions League.
However, they were unable to carry that momentum into the Premier League, with Igor Jesusâ late winner leaving them with just one point from their opening four matches.
Liam Delap opened the scoring with a long-range effort before substitute Alysson levelled for Villa in the second half.
Jesus then reacted quickest inside the penalty area to restore Forestâs advantage and condemn Emeryâs side to another disappointing result.
The defeat has increased scrutiny on Villaâs summer rebuild, particularly after the club allowed several established first-team players to leave.
Ten new arrivals were brought in, including goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Nicolas Jackson.

Yet one of the most expensive additions, Alejandro Garnacho, continues to struggle for regular opportunities.
The Argentina international arrived from Chelsea on an initial season-long loan with an obligation to buy for ÂŁ47.5m next summer.
Despite featuring during pre-season, Garnacho has managed only 32 minutes of competitive football and has been an unused substitute in Villaâs last two matches.
Emery previously confirmed the club have long-term plans for Garnacho, but his lack of involvement is already raising serious questions over the deal.
