West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen has admitted he is relishing the return of a long-awaited rivalry with Millwall, with the two sides preparing to meet again in what promises to be a fiercely contested Championship encounter.
The fixture has been absent from the calendar for several years, adding extra significance to Saturdayβs meeting.
Both sets of supporters are expected to bring plenty of noise and passion to the occasion, with the rivalry likely to provide an intense atmosphere inside and outside the stadium.
For Bowen, however, the focus remains firmly on delivering a result for West Ham and rewarding the supporters who have backed the club through a difficult period.
“It’s a rivalry that’s not had the fixture for however many years, so it’s one I’m sure both sets of fans are looking forward to.
We want to win, for the fans and the club. There’s nothing we need to do differently, because we’re in a really good place.”

β Bowen on Millwall
West Ham have made an impressive start to life back in the Championship, winning their opening four league matches and moving to the top of the table.
Bowen has played a key role during that run and will be central to their hopes of maintaining their perfect start.
With the rivalry renewed, West Ham will be determined to ensure the occasion ends with another victory.
