Aston Villa could see a Chelsea loanee leave the club if he continues to struggle for regular first-team football, with his future increasingly uncertain following a difficult start to his spell.
The 22-year-old joined Villa on loan during the summer, with a £43million obligation to buy included should he meet certain performance milestones. However, there are growing doubts over whether those conditions will be met.
Alejandro Garnacho has managed just 31 minutes across three substitute appearances under Unai Emery and has been an unused substitute in each of Villa’s last four matches.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, it was explained: “It’s up to the player at the moment. He needs to impressing Emery in training to try and win his support.
“But look, if things don’t improve by January, maybe Villa will think they’re not going to go ahead and make that move permanent, they won’t pay the fee that has been agreed and he can leave.

“He doesn’t look like he has a future at Chelsea either because they’ve allowed him to go out on loan, so a return there is unlikely.
“I wouldn’t write him off just yet and I don’t think Villa are writing him off they’ll be hoping that he can have an impact, but something will have to change if that is to happen.”
Despite his limited opportunities, Emery is reportedly willing to give Garnacho time to adapt to his methods. The winger must now impress in training and prove he deserves a place in Villa’s starting XI before January.
