Leicester City manager Russell Martin has addressed the frustrations among supporters as pressure continues to build following the club’s disappointing start to life in League One.

The Foxes have struggled to deliver consistent performances this season, leaving sections of the fanbase increasingly concerned about the team’s direction under Martin.

Supporters have made their feelings known in recent matches, with frustration growing over the results and performances produced by the squad.

Despite the mounting pressure, Martin believes the crowd have generally been supportive of the team, although he acknowledged that players can feel uncomfortable when the atmosphere becomes tense inside the stadium.

Speaking about the relationship between the supporters and his players, the Leicester boss said: ‘I think the crowd have been really good on the whole.

But there isn’t a stadium on earth where you don’t feel some level of discomfort as a player.’

His comments come at a difficult time for Leicester, who are desperate to turn their fortunes around and begin climbing the League One table.

Martin will be hoping his players can respond positively on the pitch and give supporters something to celebrate, with results likely to play a significant role in determining the mood around the club in the coming weeks.

Despite the criticism, the Leicester manager also expressed his excitement ahead of watching his side play, adding: ‘I’m excited to see us play’

The Foxes must now translate that optimism into performances and results if they are to restore confidence among their increasingly impatient supporters.
