Russell Martin has praised his Leicester City players for delivering an impressive performance in their 4-0 victory over Bromley on Tuesday night, as the Foxes secured consecutive wins and continued their push up the League One table.

Leicester took control at Hayes Lane, scoring three times before half-time through Will Alves, John Lundstram and Luke Thomas. Emil Riis then added a fourth after the break, completing a convincing display against the struggling hosts.

The result lifted City to 10th place, just three points off the play-off positions. It also marked their third clean sheet of the season, providing a welcome improvement after conceding a soft goal against Doncaster at the weekend.

Martin was particularly pleased with the balance his side showed throughout the contest, praising their aggression, composure and ability to learn from previous performances.

“I’m really proud of the players and the performance,” he said.

“I thought we were really aggressive, but we had a real balance of being really aggressive, but really composed.

At times, we had real aggression on Saturday, but not quite the composure we needed to really execute from certain moments.”

The Leicester boss admitted his side could have made the contest more comfortable by scoring earlier, but was delighted with their overall performance.

“It’s a really hard place to come and we played really, really well. The most pleasing aspect tonight is we kept a clean sheet and we grew as a team from Saturday.

That’s all I can keep asking of the players, to keep growing and keep trying to improve.”

He added: “I really liked the way we managed the game.”
