Leicester City are bracing themselves for a potential setback after top scorer Jordan James returned early from international duty with Wales, sparking concerns over his fitness.
The 21-year-old, on loan from Rennes, appeared to aggravate his Achilles during the first half of Wales’ World Cup qualifying defeat to Bosnia-Herzegovina last Thursday, ultimately limping off around the 60-minute mark.

Wales have since confirmed that James will miss their upcoming clash with Northern Ireland on Tuesday, returning to the King Power Stadium for “further medical assessment.”
For a Leicester side fighting to secure their Championship survival, the absence of their leading scorer could be a serious blow.
Wales boss Craig Bellamy provided an update on Monday: “JJ unfortunately got injured during the game. He tried to play on but it was just too painful so he’s gone back to Leicester.”
James had only recently returned from a month-long hamstring injury, but made an immediate impact, registering a goal and an assist in three starts.
His strike against QPR took him into double figures for the season, outscoring the club’s two leading strikers combined.
Leicester manager Gary Rowett is expected to provide a full update on James at his Wednesday press conference. While the club will hope to have him available, Rowett has alternatives in the number 10 role, including Divine Mukasa, Bobby De Cordova-Reid, and Aaron Ramsey.
In midfield, Joe Aribo could slot in if James is sidelined, with Oliver Skipp’s role potentially adjusted to cover the gap.
