It’s annoying 😡😡: This is the unbelievable decision Gary Rowett made that cost us points in today’s game.

Gary Rowett is not a reckless operator. The Leicester City manager is clearly pursuing what he believes to be the most effective route to survival, yet elements of his approach feel rooted in an older school of thinking — one that leans heavily on experience rather than the dynamism supporters increasingly demand.

There has been progress. Defensively, Leicester appear more organised and resilient under his guidance.

But at the other end, goals have dried up, and frustration is beginning to simmer among the King Power faithful, particularly with some of Rowett’s team selections.

The manager has openly acknowledged that he is unlikely to turn to the club’s emerging young talents during the decisive run-in, preferring instead the security of seasoned professionals.

Should Leicester fall short, that decision may come under sharp scrutiny, viewed as a reluctance to inject much-needed energy into a faltering attack.

There is also growing unease over the continued backing of Patson Daka and Jordan Ayew, both of whom have struggled to deliver consistently. Supporters are beginning to question whether loyalty is outweighing performance.

“These are things you look at and we have quite a few young forwards in and around the club,” Rowett said. “But we have two very experienced forwards.

“…I’m not going to stick someone up there who’s never played as a striker before. The reality is I don’t think that’s going to work.

“It’s a case of encouraging Pato and Jordan, the two experienced members of the squad. Jordan scored a fantastic goal for Ghana and Pato scored a great goal for us against Ipswich.

“It’s about giving them the environment, platform and support to go and be the best they can.”
