Leicester City returned from the international break with little to show for it, two underwhelming draws over Easter doing little to ease mounting concerns around their Championship status.
Gary Rowett’s side remain in desperate need of victories, with just one win in nine since he took charge following Marti Cifuentes’ brief spell. A 2-2 draw with Preston North End was followed by a 1-1 stalemate at Sheffield Wednesday, despite Leicester controlling long periods of both encounters.

Rowett would have welcomed the presence of Jordan James in those fixtures, but the Welshman remains sidelined after picking up an injury on international duty. The midfielder returned from Wales’ World Cup play-off against Bosnia and Herzegovina having stumbled awkwardly, and has not featured since.
There are now growing fears he could miss out again when Swansea City visit the King Power Stadium this weekend.
Rowett said, when quizzed on when his star man would be back: “JJ had a fitness test for the first game which made it seem like he wasn’t far away. By having a fitness test he’s maybe aggravated it a little bit. It didn’t quite feel like he was close for this one.”
James’ absence is a significant blow. The Rennes loanee has been a rare bright spark, contributing ten goals and four assists this season. Leicester, meanwhile, have failed to win any of the last eight matches he has missed — a worrying trend as time runs out.
