You are smarter than our captain Ricardo Pereira 😡😡😡: Hamza Choudhury has won the fans’ hearts after this disgraceful act by club captain Ricardo Pereira in public.

Hamza Choudhury has done little to help himself in recent weeks, either with his performances or with the perception growing around him at Leicester City.

Since becoming a prominent figure for Bangladesh, there has been a sense that his view of his own importance has risen, despite his domestic form failing to justify it.

Against the backdrop of Leicester’s decline, the Loughborough-born midfielder has struggled badly. His displays have often lacked composure, and his reaction toward opposition supporters has only deepened frustration among the already disillusioned Blue Army.

For a long time, Choudhury was regarded as a limited but committed midfielder, someone who could be relied upon to battle. Yet his recent use in a hybrid defensive role has exposed his weaknesses and raised further doubts about his place in the side.

Ricardo Pereira, meanwhile, has also looked a shadow of the player he once was. Age and repeated injuries appear to have taken their toll on a footballer who was once among Leicester’s most dependable figures.

There was, however, a striking contrast after the final whistle. Choudhury faced the supporters and acknowledged the squad’s failings, standing in front of angry fans and accepting their criticism.

Pereira chose a different route. The captain went instead toward a more supportive section of the crowd, avoiding the fiercest criticism, though it was understood his family were with him at the time.

Even so, in a season of collapse, Choudhury’s uneasy honesty carried more weight than Pereira’s quiet withdrawal.
