I can’t play in League One 😭💔: This is the kind of players we have. Leicester City star has confirmed he can’t play for the club after their relegation was confirmed.

Leicester City are preparing for a summer of upheaval, with several first-team players expected to leave as the club begins life in League One.

Players whose contracts expire this summer are not included, though Asmir Begovic, Jordan Ayew, Jamaal Lascelles, Ricardo Pereira, Patson Daka and Wanya Marcal could all move on once their current deals come to an end.

Among those still under contract, Abdul Fatawu is likely to attract the strongest interest. The winger has divided opinion at times this season, but his best performances have shown he possesses quality well above Championship level.

It would be no surprise if Premier League clubs tested Leicester’s resolve, while overseas sides are also believed to be monitoring his situation.

Caleb Okoli is another expected to depart. The defender arrived from Atalanta to play top-flight football, and despite an underwhelming campaign at the King Power Stadium, he is unlikely to remain in the third tier.

Harry Winks also appears certain to leave. His relationship with supporters has deteriorated sharply, particularly after his exchange with fans at Portsmouth and the hostile reception he received against Hull.

Victor Kristiansen could follow a similar path once fit again, having signed with Premier League ambitions.

Leicester must also decide whether to cash in on Jeremy Monga or build around emerging academy talents, with the club’s rebuild likely to depend on getting those decisions right.
