Asmir Begović has become the first current Leicester City F.C. player to publicly address the club’s relegation to League One, offering a frank response after a miserable season reached its lowest point.
Leicester’s draw with Hull City A.F.C. confirmed an astonishing fall into the third tier, just ten years after the club’s remarkable Premier League triumph under Claudio Ranieri.

While frustration among supporters has grown in recent weeks, silence from the dressing room had only added to the sense of disconnect between players and fans.
Begovic chose to break that silence on social media, writing:
“A very challenging week with our status for next season confirmed.
It’s been disappointing all around and ultimately not good enough on all levels. Appreciate all of the support from our fans home and away all season and they deserved better.
This great club will bounce back stronger than ever without a doubt.”
Interim manager Gary Rowett also admitted major decisions now await the club’s hierarchy.
“Because big decisions are going to have to be made, tough decisions will have to be made to get the club going back in the right direction.”
Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha accepted responsibility in a statement, apologising to supporters and promising action.
For Leicester supporters, words are no longer enough. After a collapse few thought possible, attention will now turn to whether those promises are finally followed by meaningful change.
