Former West Ham United vice-chair Karren Brady has spoken publicly following the club’s relegation to the Championship, insisting there is still reason for supporters to remain optimistic despite a disastrous campaign.
The Hammers endured a miserable season which ended with a return to the second tier, but the club have chosen to keep faith with manager Nuno Espirito Santo as they prepare for a promotion push next season.

Brady, who stepped down from her role after 16 years at the club, believes Nuno is the right man to lead West Ham back to the Premier League at the first attempt.
“Even though I have stepped away from my role as vice-chair, West Ham is a club that will always remain with me,” Brady told the Sun.
“What matters now is how the club responds – and personally I believe there are reasons for supporters to look forward with some optimism, particularly with Nuno Espirito Santo remaining in charge.
“When he came in, the situation was already difficult. Confidence was low, pressure was everywhere and every game carried enormous weight.
“Yet almost immediately there was greater organisation, greater discipline and, just as importantly, greater belief. You could see players fighting again. You could see a manager taking responsibility.”
Despite Brady’s backing, frustration among supporters remains high, with many calling for change at boardroom level.
Meanwhile, West Ham are expected to oversee a significant squad rebuild this summer as they look to raise funds and strengthen their promotion bid.
