West Ham United have been forced to dismiss reports linking Metz midfielder Alpha Toure with a summer move to the London Stadium, with claims of a pre-contract agreement described as completely inaccurate.
Stories emerging over the weekend suggested the Hammers had already agreed a £7 million fee with the French side for the Senegalese midfielder, despite the uncertainty surrounding the club’s Premier League future.

However, sources close to the situation insist there is no agreement in place and no formal progress has been made.
A respected transfer insider told Claret & Hugh that the rumours were “nonsense”, particularly given the current instability at West Ham.
The club are still fighting to secure their top-flight status and are unlikely to press ahead with recruitment plans until the campaign reaches its conclusion.
Toure has impressed in Ligue 1 this season, making 30 appearances for Metz and contributing one assist from midfield. The 21-year-old remains under contract with the French club until 2028 and continues to attract interest from several European sides.
West Ham were previously credited with an interest during the January transfer window, although the player made it clear at the time that his focus remained firmly on Metz.
“It’s always flattering when clubs like West Ham or Beskitas show interest in me. But I’m under contract at Metz and I’m very focused on my season.”
Before any transfer business begins, West Ham are expected to resolve major structural decisions, including the appointment of a Director of Football and potentially a new manager.
