West Ham Fans favorite short spell at West Ham United appears to be over after the club decided not to retain the Spanish winger, leaving him available as a free agent this summer.

Traoré only arrived at the London Stadium in January after completing a move from Fulham, reuniting with manager Nuno Espírito Santo, who previously got the best out of him during their time together at Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, the move failed to produce the impact many had hoped for.

The 30-year-old struggled for regular minutes during the second half of the campaign, making only a handful of league appearances and largely being used from the bench.

Despite showing flashes of the pace and power that made him one of the Premier League’s most feared wide players, he was unable to cement a place in Nuno’s starting XI.

Earlier reports suggested West Ham were considering offering Traoré a new deal, but the club have now opted against extending his stay, bringing an end to his brief time in East London.

The former Barcelona academy graduate now enters the market as a free agent and is expected to attract interest from clubs in England and abroad. Given his experience, pace and top-flight pedigree, Traoré is unlikely to be without suitors for long as he prepares for the next chapter of his career.
