Paqueta, a standout figure for the Hammers, could depart in 2025, with interest reportedly coming from Brazilian side Botafogo.

expecting his exit, West Ham have identified McAtee as their priority target for the attacking midfield role.

The 22-year-old McAtee impressed during two loan spells at Sheffield United but has struggled for regular game time at City since returning for the 2024/25 campaign.

He has made only six appearances across all competitions this season under Pep Guardiola, though he scored his first goal for the club in their 4-0 Champions League victory over Slovan Bratislava.

Dubbed as having “a left foot made of gold,” McAtee started both of City’s Carabao Cup ties, including the 2-1 loss to Tottenham.

With limited opportunities at the Etihad, a permanent move could be on the cards. West Ham are reportedly prepared to pay over £20 million to secure his signature.

The Hammers were active in the summer transfer window, spending £120 million on nine signings.

However, with manager Julen Lopetegui under pressure after a poor start to the season, and the team sitting 14th in the table, the club will hope McAtee could provide much-needed renewal if signed.
