Russell Martin has just revealed that he wants Leicester City to keep this player after his impressive performance. You won’t believe who he wants the club to keep.

One of Leicester City’s brightest young talents underlined why there is so much excitement surrounding his future with another outstanding pre-season display, finishing the match with a goal and two assists in a performance full of confidence, creativity and attacking intent.

The youngster was at the heart of almost everything Leicester produced in the final third, constantly demanding possession and looking to influence the game whenever his side went forward.

His movement, vision and willingness to take responsibility stood out throughout the contest, while his well-taken goal capped an afternoon that will have caught the attention of Russell Martin and the coaching staff.

It was Will Alves who delivered the impressive display, continuing his strong start to pre-season. His two assists highlighted his creativity and awareness, while his goal demonstrated the composure that has made him one of the club’s most highly rated academy graduates.

With Martin insisting that places will be earned through performances, the midfielder is giving himself every chance of becoming a regular part of the first-team picture.

Supporters were equally encouraged by what they saw, with many taking to social media to praise the youngster after the final whistle.

One fan summed up the mood perfectly, saying: “Hopefully Will can stay fit there’s a player there just needs the right management around him.”

Another added: “2 assists and a goal is encouraging and he wanted the ball Everytime, keen to impress.”

If he can stay fit and continue producing performances of this standard, Alves could play a significant role for Leicester City this season.
